Jax Market is a family owned store that has been around over 40 years. Bill MacAloney president and CEO of four Jax Markets has had a life of dreams. MacAloney hitchhiked across country to seek out a better future for his family, having only a 10th-grade education and being an orphan he let nothing stand in his way. MacAloney has worked various odd jobs until he planted his feet in the food industry. MacAloney became chairman of the board of Certified Grocers of California and started the first Jax Markets in 1970. MacAloney not only runs a successful grocery business but also divides his time into the political matters of the city. To name a few of his accomplishments he has been mayor of Villa Park from 2000-2004 and created changes so people could understand where the city's budget was spent. He has also run for state Assembly in the 60th District, served as chairman of the board on both Certified Grocers of Los Angeles and California Grocers Association, he is also on the committee of the Western Association of Food Chains and attended CBA meetings.
